EPHUM-I-MAX ALLOWS COMPEHENSIVE MONITORING

See a Lot More HERE

The EPHUM-I-MAX is a comprehensive monitoring and control system that provides a wide range of information and features for managing the performance of the desiccant dehumidifier. Here’s a breakdown of the information and features it offers:

Monitored Parameters:

  1. Temperature: The EPHUM-I-MAX allows you to monitor the temperature in both Celsius (°C) and Fahrenheit (°F) units.
  2. Relative Humidity (RH%): You can monitor the relative humidity level in the air, which is important for understanding the moisture content in the environment.
  3. Absolute Humidity: Absolute humidity is measured in grams per kilogram (g/Kg) or grains per pound (GPP), providing insight into the actual amount of moisture present in the air.
  4. Dew Point: The dew point temperature, measured in either Celsius (°C) or Fahrenheit (°F), indicates the temperature at which the air becomes saturated with moisture, leading to condensation.
  5. Volts and Amps: The system allows you to monitor the voltage (V) and current (A) being drawn by the dehumidifier, giving you information about its power consumption.
  6. Power Usage: The system provides data on the power usage of the dehumidifier in Watts.
  7. Job kWh and Job Hours: These parameters help you track the energy consumption and operating duration of the dehumidifier for a specific job.
  8. Hour Counter: This counter keeps track of the total number of hours the dehumidifier has been in operation throughout its lifetime.

Monitoring and Alert Features:

  1. Job Power and Hour Monitor: The system helps you monitor the power usage and operating hours for each specific job.
  2. Ice and Heat Warnings: The EPHUM-I-MAX provides warnings in case of potential issues related to ice buildup or overheating.
  3. Filter Cleaning Warning: Alerts you when the dehumidifier’s filter needs cleaning, maintaining optimal performance.
  4. Log Page: Keeps a log of when the dehumidifier was turned off and on, aiding in tracking its operational history.
  5. High / Low Temperature and Humidity Alarms: Allows you to set thresholds for temperature and humidity, triggering alarms if levels go outside the defined range.
  6. Continuous Fan Operation: If selected, the dehumidifier’s continuous fan operation can be controlled through the app.
  7. Internal Overheat Warning Notifications: Provides notifications if the internal components of the dehumidifier are at risk of overheating.
  8. Hysteresis Variance: This feature smooths out warnings by introducing a hysteresis, preventing rapid on-off cycling of alerts.
  9. Countdown Timer: Offers countdown timer functionality for up to 24 hours, useful for specific time-based operations.
  10. 365-Day Scheduling: Enables you to schedule the dehumidifier’s operation over the course of a full year, with 24-hour granularity.
  11. Temperature and Humidity Set Point Control: Allows you to set target temperature and humidity levels for the dehumidifier.
  12. Manual Control Option: Provides a manual on/off control option for easy management.

Overall, the EPHUM-I-MAX enhances the functionality of the desiccant dehumidifier by providing comprehensive monitoring, control, and alert features that enable more effective and efficient operation, along with the ability to analyze historical data graphically.

How to set up a drying tent

Dehumidifier Installation

This is a 3-Hole dehumidifier meaning that there is one  fan inside.  Part of the dried process air is turned around, heated and used to purge the internal adsorption wheel of moisture that can be then vented away.

Moisture is "vented away".  No water is produced.  The moist air is vented to the outside or moved to another area that is ventilated. Most common installation.

Focussing the dry air gives faster drying times.  Example of "Positive Pressure" or forcing the dry air into areas it is needed
Recirculating the air to be dried gives a compound effect and gives faster drying.  This system is a "Negative Pressure" system.   Air has to replace the air that has been exhausted with the wet air.

15% of the air that is processed is expelled as wet air.  This air needs to be replaced.  Air from outside the room may be more humid.  This is averted with a larger model.

Having the machine in the area being dried and recirculating the air is the most efficient way of drying.  This system is "Negative Pressure. In a small enclosure, covered with plastic sheeting a frame is needed to ensure the tent maintains structure.  Rooms generally are not air tight so in larger rooms air can leak under doors etc

3-hole systems have one advantage over 4-Hole systems.  Around 60 Watts of energy will be retained in the process air flow with a 4-Hole system.  Normally this is not a problem (Same energy as an old home light bulb) but if it is a variable air valve may be added to balance the system with regen air.

This assumes that the air from any variable inlet (variable in order to find balance of air flow) is colder than the air inside the room being dried.   Typical applications will include  buildings where heat generated by people is not covered fully by any air conditioning.
