Boat Dehumifiers that are salt resistant
Used for Boats, Ships, Wind Turbines & Offshore Exploration
Ecor Pro boat dehumidifiers are designed in the UK for effective use at sea or at berth.
They are highly effective at keeping interior cabin areas, engine compartments and forward sail lockers dry. Duct them into the heating system, you will find ducts already in place for drying when moored. Means you return to a dry warm boat to begin sailing or motor cruising.
Ecor Pro 316 stainless steel range is called DryBoat. DryBoat dehumidifiers are the most efficient way to dry wooden beams in vintage ships or light houses, often used with shipping containers on ships, rigs or other sea craft. Made from the strongest stainless steel inside and out to ensure they are salt resistant. Our boat dehumidifiers can be built into lockers or underneath cabin furniture for concealment.
Alternatively, they can be carried easily on board, powered up and water is exhausted away. They are so versatile they work if on their sides, upside down and if more convenient to mount on their swivel anchor points. If being used unattended then only commercial grade Ecor Pro dehumidifiers will do.
Check your insurance policy. Companies are now insisting on commercial grade products used in high value assets such as boats & yachts. Yachting World best dehumidifier given a rare 5 star rating for our models.
Versions are used in other industries such as Wind Turbines, Oil and Food industries even in catering or food preparation areas

A boat dehumidifier for cabin areas, engine rooms and lockers in mind. The larger the boat dehumidifier used, the faster it will dry. Larger vessels will need larger dehumidifiers or even one for each compartment needed to be dried.

Why do you need a boat dehumidifier?
Picking the right dehumidifier can save you thousands in damp repair costs
In the colder months, thoughts invariably turn to damp: one of the constant enemies yacht all owners face. It seeps in everywhere, can find every bit of clothing and equipment and will leave an otherwise perfectly sound vessel a soggy mess inside.
Damp arrives in various guises. The humidity of sea air is often high anyway while the cold sea environment will cool the hull of a yacht. What happens next is exactly the same as happens on car or bedroom windows — when the warm, moist air inside is cooled, it can no longer hold as much moisture and the water is released onto the cooled surface, causing unpleasant condensation to form followed by damaging mould.
Super yachts have a permanent crew armed with chamois leathers to mop up every day, but for the rest of us there are three ways to prevent this damp and mould. Good insulation is key, but here you’re at the mercy of the yacht builder and the care and attention they paid to the vessel when it was being built.
What is a boat dehumidifier and why is it any different to a normal dehumidifier?
A boat dehumidifier has to deal with a number of issues that a normal home dehumidifier doesn't have to. These include the ability to cope with pitch and roll without causing flooding or damage to boat or the dehumidifier itself.
Of course salt air is highly corrosive so it needs to be able to be protected internally and externally for salt air. Size is key, as on board there is never enough space. Being able to carry on with one hand why the other steadies or Stowe away in a fixed place are often key features too.
A crucial feature is of course performance. The temperatures of a wintered boat are often cooler conditions so the boat dehumidifier has to be able to perform often at freezing temperatures but also be able to perform in the hotter humid times also.
What is the principle of a “DryBoat®”?
DryBoat addresses all the issues that are needed from a boat dehumidifier. It's the boat version of DryFan models with added internal protection and of course made from stainless steel 316 grade. They don't produce water as they vent the air to the outside. Highly portable and can be concealed into cupboard or even under seating areas.
Because DryBoat dehumidifier models vent moisture, they have to be needs to be sited where moist air can be conveniently piped out through a vent. Next, proper ventilation is important as it expels the warm, moist air before it can do its damage.
Cracking open a hatch and running a fan will make a noticeable difference but this is not really an option if you plan to leave the yacht unattended for any period of time.
The best option is simply to reduce the humidity of the air inside the yacht and this is where a boat dehumidifier comes into its own. For sure there are different technologies but desiccant dehumidification works better than compressors in cooler air temperatures and it produces clean filtered air.
Why should you consider a commercial grade dehumidifier for your boat or yacht?
The controversy, however, is whether your yacht is even insured when using a boat dehumidifier. Many models state in their instruction manual ‘not to be left unattended’ and various insurance companies demand that the dehumidifier must be suitable for marine use or the policy will be invalidated.
A domestic dehumidifier may not be designed to be left on continuously for prolonged periods of time (winter lay-up) and using it as such may also invalidate a policy. The Ecor Pro range was designed to be used all day and every day in every application and above all used safely.
