Level of Dryness Needed 

A normal home will be comfortable to live in at around 50-70% relative humidity. Moreover, that will depend very much on the preference of the home owner.

All dehumidifiers have a tolerance level regarding their accuracy.  Thus, can vary by 5-15%. Scales should be taken as relative.

A lot depends on the size of the room, what is in the room being dried and the air refresh rate from outside the room bringing in outside humidity. The last factor is time.  

Low Grain Refrigerant or Desiccant?

If its low temperature or focus drying then desiccant usualy wins.  There is an instance at higher temperature where desiccant is better.  A refrigerant dehumidifier will not lost long above 35°C/95°F during operation in general as there a lot of strain placed on the compressor.  The compressor is the main part of a refrigerant dehumidifier and drives gas around the refrigeration circuit.

Restoration Professional Consideration

A LGR dehumidifier is easy to use.  Put it in a room and switch it on.  The water is pumped away.  A deciccant will give shorter drying times and allows the focus of dry air easier.  Another advant of desiccant is they are usually very strong and need little maintainance.

Moreover, pool areas obviously are more humid than hanging areas.  If there is a large surface area of glass to keep clear in the pool area, consideration may be needed to create a curtain of dry air down the glass .
